The Firehouse Clinic is a student-run clinic dedicated to serving the unhoused and economically underprivileged population of Kalamazoo.
Formed in partnership with Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries, the clinic offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services tailored to meet the needs of the unhoused.
Located inside Kalamazoo’s former Fire House No. 4 at 526 N. Burdick St., the free clinic is staffed by medical student volunteers on the first and third Friday of every month from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Our Services
The Firehouse Clinic aims to increase access to healthcare for those struggling in and around the Kalamazoo community. Clinic offerings include:
- Private space and personalized care through regular in-depth check-ups, more advanced and comprehensive physical exams, and robust clinical management of chronic conditions, as well as identifying new health issues and providing preventative care.
- Access to necessary medications including filling out prescriptions in addition to providing free-of-charge hygiene products and other medical supplies to support daily health needs.
- Dedicated time with each patient to ensure thorough and compassionate care, addressing physical, mental, and emotional health.
- Specialized services including focus on women's health, mental health screenings, cancer screenings, psychological conditions, and more.
