At WMed, we recognize that achieving our vision of health equity for all in Southwest Michigan requires a culture of belonging and well-being. Understanding who we are helps us shape our culture through the diverse mix of our students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. A comprehensive set of characteristics guides us to embrace and promote uniqueness. Among the individual characteristics that bring value to the learning and working environment are gender, race, and ethnicity. Data are self-reported as of September 2024. Those who did not report their gender, race, or ethnicity are represented in the data as “not specified.” We compare ourselves to the Southwest Michigan region using population data from the 2020 US census American Community Survey.
