Biosketch

Jacob Shermetaro, DO, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, and completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Corewell Health Farmington Hills and Dearborn in Michigan followed by an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Northwell Health's Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY. His clinical and research interests include medical education, hip and knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty, and he has published on topics such as infection management in joint replacement, arthrofibrosis after total knee arthroplasty, and patient-reported outcome measures in joint replacement. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the AAHKS Young Arthroplasty Group, among other professional organizations.
