The medical school recently welcomed a new leader to the Office of Clinical Affairs.
Cody Zeithammel, MHA, BSc, began his duties as director of Clinical Affairs Business Operations on May 18. Zeithammel graduated from Siena Heights University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering technology and, in 2023, he earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Grand Canyon University.
In his new role at WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed), Zeithammel oversees the operational and financial performance of the medical school’s ambulatory services and works closely with clinical managers and directors to oversee daily clinical services, ensure excellent patient care, and provide a high performing, team-based learning environment for resident physicians and medical students.
Before coming to WMed, Zeithammel worked at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall for more than 14 years, most recently serving as co-director of Quality, Outcomes, and Analytics. Prior to that role, he was the quality analytics manager in the hospital’s Quality Department for five years and spent four years as a programmer analyst and system administrator for information technology.
Zeithammel also previously served as an IT systems analyst at Regional Medical Laboratories, Inc., from 2010 to 2011 and prior to that he was a regional manager for Instrotek, Inc., for three years and an IT field service engineer for Getronics for almost 12 years.
Additionally, Zeithammel attended Kellogg Community College (KCC) in Battle Creek where he earned an associate’s degree in general business and an associates of applied science in computer technology in 2004. Since 2013, he has served as an elected member of KCC’s Computer Engineering Technology (CET) Program Steering Committee.
