Biosketch

Dr. Alex Beckman is an Internal Medicine Resident Physician who grew up in Portage, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before attending medical school, he contributed to neuroscience and addiction research at Marquette University and served as a Human Anatomy Teaching Assistant in the university's gross anatomy laboratory. He also worked at a local dermatology practice in Portage, Michigan, and conducted cutaneous immunology research at the Henry Ford Research Institute in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Beckman earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Inspired by the community that shaped him, he is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals throughout Southwest Michigan. His service interests include improving sleep quality during hospital stays, increasing public awareness of the early signs of dementia while promoting family communication about cognitive health, and supporting community tree-planting initiatives to preserve the natural beauty of the Kalamazoo area.
