Muhammad Asjad Abbas, MD, is a resident physician in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2022. Following graduation, he completed his intern year at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad and Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital in Lahore, gaining broad clinical exposure across diverse inpatient and outpatient settings. He went on to gain additional clinical exposure at leading institutions in the United States and served as a visiting research scholar in the Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia, where he worked on projects related to epilepsy, post-stroke seizures, and biomarkers in dementia. His teaching and service interests include medical education, mentorship, and improving access to compassionate, patient-centered care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Abbas enjoys soccer, chess, traveling, gaming, attending concerts, and spending time with animals.
