Biosketch

Lauren Griffin, MD, is an Internal Medicine resident at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed). She earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago and subsequently completed her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at WMed. No fellowship training has been completed to date. Throughout medical school, Dr. Griffin has been actively involved in research, student leadership, advocacy, and community service. She has contributed to projects in immunology and hematology, including research involving human B-cell antibody generation and studying the role of B1 cells in sepsis. She has also held leadership and service roles through organizations such as the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), working to promote wellness, donor recruitment, advocacy, and community engagement. Her clinical interests include Hematology/Oncology and Infectious Diseases. Her teaching interests include medical student education, mentorship, and wellness initiatives. Her research interests focus on immunology, hematology, oncology, and translational research. She is also passionate about community service, physician well-being, and improving access to healthcare.
