Michelle Teresa Wiciak, MD, MS, is a resident intern in internal medicine–pediatrics at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University, followed by post‑baccalaureate pre‑medical training at the University of Vermont. She earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Walden University and her medical degree from the Saint James School of Medicine, where she also led international research initiatives. Prior to residency, she held research positions at Dartmouth College, Dartmouth‑Hitchcock Medical Center, and the Vermont Cancer Center. In recent years, she proudly served as a project coordinator at Emory University School of Medicine, contributing to mixed‑methods studies on non‑communicable diseases and disaster preparedness in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is currently completing her PhD in Public Health with a focus on chronic disease management and health equity. Her clinical and research interests include non‑communicable diseases, extreme weather events, global and environmental health, mental health, neurodivergence and disabilities, and vulnerable populations.
