Biosketch
Brian Michalsen, DO, is a board certified family physician, with additional qualifications in sports medicine. He is a graduate of Midwestern University / Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois in 2011, followed by a fellowship at Resurrection Hospital in primary care sports medicine. From 2012 to 2024, he worked in Rockford, Illinois as a clinical adjunct professor for the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford. In addition, he assisted with sports medicine clerkships for Mercyhealth Rockford Family Practice Residency from 2019-2024. He was the head team primary care physician for the Rockford Icehogs from 2016-2024. He currently works for the Bronson Health System. His clinical and teaching interests include preventative health care, acute care, and sports medicine.
