Students from the MD Class of 2025 will gather with family, friends, and the medical school community next month to celebrate Match Day as they learn where they will be headed for residency training.
This year’s festivities will be held in-person at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo on Friday, March 21, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Students are being given tickets for three guests to attend the event, but were able to request additional tickets. We anticipate there will be over 400 people in support of our students this year. Following Match Day, the Match Day map, highlighting where our students matched, will be on display in the W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus Café.
”This day is so exciting for our students, as this is the culmination of all their hard work,” said Alex Carlson, director of Student Life and Well-Being. “We are thrilled to be here with our students and their supporters to celebrate their next beginning.”
Match Day is a time-honored event that is held every March at medical schools across the country.
Students and their guests at the event on March 21 will hear remarks from fourth-year student Tierra Jolly. At noon, students will open an envelope with their Match results, learning where they will spend the next three or more years in residency training.
There will be plenty of opportunities for students and their guests to capture photos with WMed backdrops and the Match Day pin map. Students will also be able to take the stage to share their Match results with guests at the event and with those watching via livestream.
