John Fornarotto, MD is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist. He received his AB (With Distinction in All Subjects) from Cornell University in 1979, then his MD from Tulane University in 1983. He went to the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center for his training, starting with a straight surgical internship, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute, completed in 1988. He has been in four private practices, the last being Pocatello Eye Care, a practice he founded and ran for 30 years in Idaho. The practice was primarily centered around cataract surgery, but also involved a large amount of general / comprehensive eye care. While maintaining a busy medical and surgical practice, he was involved in resident education as a Clinical Instructor in the Idaho State University Department of Family Medicine, as well as the Physicians' Assistants Training Program during most of his time there. He sold the practice in March 2024 and has relocated back to Michigan.
