Biosketch
Stephen Szabadi, MD, is a resident physician in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida in 2013 on full scholarship as a Stamps Foundation Scholar. After graduating he spent several years touring and recording as a professional trombonist in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA. During this time he also earned his FAA commercial and flight-instructor pilot certificates and was employed as a helicopter flight instructor and sightseeing tour pilot in Southern California. In 2024, he earned his medical degree from the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. While in medical school, he was involved in geriatrics leadership and research in health ethics and quality improvement, winning an AMA award for "1st place medical student research". Dr. Szabadi's research and clinical interests include neurocognitive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, neuropsychoanalysis, functional neuroimaging, and geriatrics advocacy.
