Anessa Puskar, MD, is a resident physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. She later obtained her medical degree at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana-Champaign, IL. There, Dr. Puskar served as a Peer Educator from 2021-2024. In 2023, she co-founded Avicenna’s Women’s Health Clinic, a free clinic providing women’s healthcare services to the Urbana-Champaign area. She served as the clinic’s director until her graduation in May 2024. Her clinical, teaching, and research interests include medical education, trauma-sensitive care, and healthcare accessibility.
