Integrated Behavioral Health Service

Our Behavioral Health consultants will work directly with our residents and physicians in the Pediatrics Clinic providing behavioral health consultation, evaluation, brief intervention, and referral.

Outpatient Psychological Treatment

We offer psychological treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health concerns and medical conditions, including those below. Psychological treatment involves talk therapy and strategies to start helpful behaviors (please note we do not prescribe medication).

Sleep Disorders: We provide outpatient psychology services for children and adolescents experiencing sleep difficulties, including insomnia, delayed sleep phase, nightmares, and other behavioral or psychological sleep concerns. Our clinic specializes in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), as well as other evidence-based, non-pharmacologic interventions to improve sleep quality and daytime functioning. We work collaboratively with referring providers to support patients with both standalone sleep issues and those occurring alongside medical or psychiatric conditions.

Functional Neurological Disorders: We provide outpatient psychology services for individuals of all ages diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), including functional seizures, motor symptoms, sensory changes, and other unexplained neurological symptoms. We provide comprehensive, trauma-informed psychological treatment focused on symptom management, emotional regulation, psychoeducation, and improving quality of life. We collaborate closely with neurology and rehabilitation teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care for individuals living with FND.

Gastrointestinal Disorders: We accept referrals for outpatient psychology services for children and adolescents experiencing elimination concerns, disorders of gut-brain interaction, and coping with gastrointestinal concerns. Using a biopsychosocial model, we support young people and their families with a variety of evidence-based psychological and behavioral interventions aimed at improving symptom management, enhancing functioning and wellness, or reducing symptoms. Specific areas addressed include toileting concerns, functional constipation, encopresis, abdominal pain/irritable bowel syndrome, chronic illness, and rumination syndrome.

Diabetes: We provide outpatient psychology services for children and adolescents with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Treatment involves cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based, integrated approaches to support adjustment to a new diagnosis; engagement in daily diabetes management; coping with burnout, depression, and anxiety; building positive family communication and teamwork; and strengthening self-confidence and self-esteem in youth living with diabetes.

Diagnostic Interviews

We conduct diagnostic interviews to obtain more in-depth information about presenting concerns and to assess the need for additional psychological evaluation.

Autism Evaluations

Evaluations in our Approved Autism Evaluation Center are performed by a team of psychologists, a speech-language pathologist, and a pediatrician. We provide evaluations for children up to and including age 6 years and under.
