Biosketch
Deborah Swena, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Bronson Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Specialists in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated with degrees in nursing and physiology from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tennessee. She went on to Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, for medical school followed by Reading Hospital Tower Health, West Reading, Pennsylvania, for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She spent two and a half years after residency serving in a mission clinic in the US territory of Guam. During that time she worked to establish an international global health rotation for OBGYN residents rotating in Guam. In May 2022, she enjoyed spending five weeks in Malawi working with PAACS surgical residents from Africa as well as third-year OB/Gyn residents from Loma Linda on their global health rotation. Her professional interests include medical education, global health, whole-person care, and lifestyle medicine.
