Biosketch
Christopher Haymaker, PhD, is a medical science educator in the Department of Medical Education at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, Illinois. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology from Miami University at Oxford, Ohio.
Prior to coming to WMed, Dr. Haymaker was part of the behavioral science faculty of the Northeast Iowa Medical Foundation in Waterloo, Iowa, where he was responsible for the management and development of the behavioral health curriculum for the family practice residency. He was active with Iowa's Community Teaching Scholars, a medical teaching collaborative that develops best practices for teaching medical students and residents within the state.
Dr. Haymaker's research interests include primary care behavioral health, lifestyle medicine, health inequities, and mindfulness.
