Biosketch
David Overton, MD, MBA, is a board certified emergency medicine physician with Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. He served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education from 2022-2025.
Dr. Overton is a graduate of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital System in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and an emergency medicine residency at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, Dr. Overton has an MBA from Michigan State University.
Dr. Overton has a research and clinical interest in undergraduate and graduate medical education. In addition to his board certification in emergency medicine, he also is board-certified in internal medicine.
