Biosketch
Juli McCarroll, MA, MLIS, AHIP, received her undergraduate degree in Spanish at the University of Toledo. She completed her Masters in Library and Information Science at Drexel University before accepting a position at Bowling Green State University as Head of Circulation and Interim Access Services Director, where she completed additional graduate degrees in English (Linguistics), TESOL, and Spanish. In that role, Ms. McCarroll managed staff and student employees, led them through technology upgrades, instructed patrons how to navigate, evaluate, request, and utilize physical and e-resources, carried out user studies, presented findings at state conferences, and worked in reference. With more than 13 years of experience in both union and non-union public, federal depository, university, and medical libraries, she has been a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals since 2020 and is currently a Medical Librarian and Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine where she provides services to support teaching, research, and patient care. Ms. McCarroll has a Michigan Level 1 library certificate, and earned the Medical Library Association’s Systematic Review Services Specialization Level 1 in 2022.
