Biosketch
Sheldon Maltz, MD, is a board-certified critical care surgeon with Bronson Trauma Surgery Services in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois. He earned both a master's degree and a medical degree from Chicago Medical School North Finch University of Health Sciences. He completed both a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in critical care surgery with Chicago Medical School North Finch University of Health Sciences, as well. He also completed an additional fellowship in trauma surgery with Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Maltz enjoys the ability to care for any injury and manage a trauma patient's care in its entirety. He appreciates the trauma field and the challenge of not knowing what he will be treating every day. He has an interest in medical education, having served as Surgical Simulation Director for Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, as well as surgical clerkship director for Western Michigan University's physician assistant program, and as Internal Coordinator Undergraduate-Postgraduate General Surgery Education at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
