Biosketch
Jered Cornelison, PhD, is a forensic anthropologist with Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a graduate of Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, which is also where he earned one of two master's degrees in anthropology. He earned the other from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, which is also where he completed his doctorate in anthropology.
Dr. Cornelison serves as forensic anthropologist for Michigan County Medical Examiner Offices. In that role and as an associate professor in the Department of Pathology, he directs human identification for unidentified individuals, provides human anatomy instruction, writes grant proposals, performs research, assists with institutional policy development, and provides instruction for forensic anthropology interns.
Dr. Cornelison's research interests include physical anthropology, forensic anthropology, skeletal trauma, skeletal biology, human identification, bone regeneration, human anatomy, and research ethics.
