Biosketch

Prentiss Jones, PhD, is a toxicologist with Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. He earned a master's degree in biological sciences from Purdue University in Hammond, Indiana, and a PhD from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Dr. Jones is a fellow of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology. In his role as a toxicologist, he has assisted county coroners with forensic cases involving drug-related deaths, provided courtroom testimony as a forensic toxicology expert, and assisted in the investigation of sudden, unexpected deaths.

Dr. Jones has research interest in ethanol pharmacokinetics, the relationship of lean body mass to ethanol, enzyme multiplied immunoassay testing interferences produced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications in drug abuse in urine testing, and methadone exposure in neonates via unconventional routes.
