Biosketch

Kristin Alyousif, MLIS, earned her undergraduate degree in Latin, Ancient Greek, and Classical Studies at Grand Valley State University and earned her Master in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University, specializing in human-computer interaction and user experience in information science. She is currently the Library Digital Strategist at the Medical Library of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, where she works to connect students and faculty with the tools and resources they need to thrive in the medical education and research environment. Her professional interests include integrated library systems, online learning tools, and user experience in libraries. Drawing on her classical language background, she has developed a growing scholarly focus on the Latin and Greek roots of medical terminology, and explores these etymological foundations through both an elective course and ongoing research into clinical and anatomical language.
