Kelly A. Brown, MD, is the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine (WMed).
Dr. Brown is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned a bachelor's degree (BS) in Biomedical Sciences. She earned her medical degree (MD) from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia Health Systems in 2009. In addition, Dr. Brown completed a Fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics from the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at WMed and serves as Division Chief of Academic General Pediatrics. Prior to her current role as DIO, Dr. Brown also served as the Pediatric Residency Program Director at WMed from 2016-2025.
Throughout her career, Dr. Brown has worked closely with medical students and residents. In addition to mentoring, teaching, and scholarly activities, Dr. Brown remains active in direct patient care and enjoys working with children and families dealing with complex medical conditions, as well as providing quality mental, behavioral health, and preventive care to pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood.
