Biosketch

Ann Harris, MLIS, AHIP, has over 20 years of experience working in academic and public libraries, including serving as an intern and volunteer in medical libraries, and has provided research and reference assistance to library users from numerous backgrounds, professions, and research interests. At WMed, she currently serves in the position of Senior Informationist and Medical Librarian Team Leader and holds the rank of Assistant Professor. Ann previously served as a Reference Librarian for South University in Novi, Michigan, where she provided comprehensive research assistance and support, and information literacy instruction to students in various academic disciplines and degree levels, including undergraduate and graduate nursing. She has been a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) since 2020, and in 2021, earned Level 2 certification as a Consumer Health Information Specialist from the Medical Library Association. Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Nutrition and Food Science and a Master of Library and Information Science, both from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
