Brian W. Nielsen, MD, MS, is the residency program director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a graduate of Alma College with a BS in Chemistry in May 1997. He earned his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine in June 2001. He completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. He also earned an MS in Clinical Research and Biostatical Analysis from The University of Michigan School of Public Health in May 2009. After a number of years in practice, he completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Vermont, Larner College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont.
From 2008-2011, Dr. Nielsen was an Assistant Residency Program Director in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center. From 2011-2014, he was a Women's Reproductive Health Researcher (NIH) at the University of Vermont. Currently, he is a top reviewer for the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology.
